An Eco Roof is typically a
lightweight, low maintenance vegetated roof system used in place of a
conventional roof. Green Roofs can be located on flat or pitched roofs
and can be used on commercial and residential structures. There are many
benefits of eco-roofs including: reducing storm water runoff, improving
outdoor air quality, providing insulation for the building, and creating
habitat.
There are two main types of green roofs: extensive and intensive; an
extensive roof typically has shallow, lighter weight soil with low
maintenance plants, where an intensive roof can have much deeper soil
with a wider variety of plant materials.
Take a look at one of our Eco Roof projects at Linn Benton Community
College
here. Highway Fuel blew
about 100 yards of custom blended soil mix three stories up to fill 2000
2x2 soil boxes.
With our large line of raw materials we can custom blend soils to meet
almost any specification for Eco-roof growing media, and with our unique
blower trucks we can install the media as well.
